金城，原名紹城，字鞏北，一字拱北，號北樓、又號藕湖。祖籍浙江吳興，生於北京。山水、花鳥皆能，兼工篆隸鐫刻，旁及古文辭。曾創立中國畫學研究會並擔任會長。又发起成立湖社畫會，影響深遠。
