WEN CAI: A PURPLE CLAY TEAPOT    聞才款 紫泥牛蓋洋桶壺

Of flattened cylindrical form, the shoulder and bottom with twelve raised segments, signifying longevity, the side engraved with poem and title, the lid with two character mark, bottom of handle with two character “Dong Shi” mark, bottom of teapot with four character artist mark. Wang Dongshi and He Xingzhou were both the founder of Jiannin’s Yucheng kiln. Late Qing Dynasty period


此壺為傳統作品之一,屬大號洋桶壺,壺身桶狀規整均勻,端莊大方,壺肩為凹肩,與傳統略有不同,線條優美豐富,二彎流,壺嘴修長,壺身為民國時期流行常見的金石索拓本,壺耳與蓋內有聞才款式,底落“延記圖書”款。聞才洋桶素以大見長,製作上更有難度,歷百年能保持良好實屬不易。聞才此人為清末民初人,與儲銘(顧景舟師傅)齊名。
