Seated on top of a rectangular compressed rectangular plinth, the Arhat's right hand is holding a scroll, left hand holding a hossu, dressed in elaborate and layered robe, with double stranded prayer beads on the neck. The Arhat's raised eyes and closed lips seem to express anger. Covered overall in black lacquer, with losses and chips. The reverse with Japanese colophon. 18th century
