Of flattened ovoid form, the shallow washer's exterior carved with the 'Three Friends of Winter', or pine, bamboo, and plum, symbolizing steadfastness, perseverance, and resilience. The stone of smooth white color with slight translucency. Bottom bears four character "QIANLONG NIANZHI" mark. 20th Century.


A similar but smaller white and russet jade brush washer that comes in a pair, was sold on September 19-20 2013 for $339,750 in Christie’s New York.
