The rectangular panel centered by the yoke of an untailored Imperial yellow robe, finely woven with nine five-clawed dragons, some clutching a flaming pearl, some clutching a lingzhi with Chinese character "WAN" on top, amidst clusters of colorful ruyi-head clouds above a rocky outcrop emerging from crashing waves tossed with auspicious symbols, all against a yellow ground. Qing Dynasty period.


A comparable piece of dragon embroidery was sold in Sotheby’s Paris on June 14, 2007 as lot 79 for 33,600 EUR.
