The jade plaque relief carved the story of Lao Zi, riding on a water buffalo, arrives at Hangu Guan right after the auspicious purple cloud, the idiom "Zi Qi Dong Lai" carved on the left side. The reverse is gilt decorated with a riverside scenery including village buildings, bridges, willow trees, villagers, and rockworks. The plaque is enclosed in a rectangular nephrite jade frame, all inset into a gilt bronze stand, with beautiful flower themed patterns and pedestal. 20th Century.
