The body of flattened melon form, with round handle and a spout slightly curved twice, the body engraved with colophon and calligrapher signature “Man Sheng”, the lid in the form of pumpkin branches, bottom with four character artist seal mark “Yang Pengnian”.

此壺通體為瓜型但無菱，唯蓋為南瓜型蓋，二彎流，壺嘴上翹，壺身刻有“茗椀寒供白露芽 曼生銘”，壺底刻“楊彭年造”款。

楊彭年，字二泉，號大鵬，清嘉慶、道光年間（1796-1850）制宜興紫砂壺名藝人，浙江省桐鄉人。善制茗壺，有的渾樸雅致，有的精巧玲瓏，且善配泥色。首創捏嘴不用模子和掇暗嘴之工藝，雖隨意製成，亦有天然之致， 世稱“彭年壺”，對後世影響頗大。
