The throne is constructed of a rectangular seat framed with ice-plate edge supporteding peripheral panel screens, finely carved in relief with scene of birds and flowers on both sides, the chair back comprising a single panel finely carved with scene of birds paying homage to phoenix, all set above recessed waist supported on ruyi head and buddhist lion decorated apron, the powerful legs curved inwards as heads of lions, each rested on a floor stretcher. Qing Dynasty period.
