Of pear-shaped and oval section, the vessel is raised on spreading foot, the body cast with a band of phoenix scroll reserved on leiwen pattern and centered by a mythical beast mask in high relief. The swing handle is furthur cast with diamond shaped bosses and elongated bird motif, each end mounted with animal mask. The cover has similar scrolling beast motif and surmounted with rounded flared finial. The bronze has a mottled patina and malachite encrustation.
