Qing Dynasty period. The scepter is naturalistically carved in high relief to depict a large 'lingzhi' fungus head, the shaft in the form of gnarled trailing branches, the carving with characteristic agarwood aroma.

此如意以沉香木隨形而雕，柄身呈彎曲樹幹，靈芝自枝幹間生長，蒼勁遒力，鮮活而有張力。首部為大靈芝如意頭，構思巧妙，形制天然，如此大料，非常難得。沉香自古以來即被列為眾香之首，其之名貴，被喻為植物中的鑽石。加之與身俱來的香氣，淡雅宜人，亦是工藝品最上乘的原材料。本件如意色澤凝練古樸，黝黑泛紅，包漿純熟。外形古雅，仿木材自然之形，蜿蜒曲折，清雅自然，整體造形優美，靈芝樹幹線條簡練利落，不可多得。 來源：紐約重要私人藏家收藏。類似藏品請參考紐約大都會博物館藏清中期白玉臥馬
