The gilt bodhisattva cast seated upon a lotus throne in lalitasana with his right foot resting on lotus throne, the right hand resting on the right knee in vitarka mudra with the left hand placed by the left leg, the serene face flanked by a pair of long pendulous earlobes with earrings, adorned in a diadem, wearing beaded necklaces, bracelets, armbands, all resting on a stand cast in the form of a caparisoned Buddhist lion with its head turned to upward, its large bulging eyes, thick eyebrows and mane meticulously detailed, all supported on a lotus base with beaded edges.

文殊菩薩在大乘佛教中被賦予智慧的象征，表示對一切事物和現象具有敏銳的洞察力和很高的領悟力，因而受到人們的頂禮膜拜。其坐騎雄獅象征著“智之威猛”。此尊文殊頭戴五葉寶冠，層帶於耳後飛揚，面相方圓，眉似彎月，雙目微睜，直鼻小口，耳垂圓珰，身體略向右傾，姿勢優美。身穿天衣，下著長裙，胸前飾項圈瓔珞，肩披帔帛，左手扶膝，右手安搭於蓮座上，作自然嬉戲狀。座下雄獅溫順地匍匐於蓮台之上，回首望向主尊，細密而華麗的毛发刻畫栩栩如生。獅子的形態溫順而不失威嚴，更加凸顯了文殊的尊貴。整器制作精細，造型生動，鎏金厚實，線條流暢，保存完好。 來源：德州達拉斯私人藏家提供
