Qing Dynasty period. Finely carved in openwork in the form of two large black jade carved recumbent mythical beasts as parents looking at their three white jade carved cubs grasping ribbons in mouth, the beasts deftly carved with bulging eyes above flaring nostrils and broad snout, the body further worked with knobbly spine with mane detailed with incised lines.
