此案以黃花梨為材，面心用一塊紋理如畫的黃花梨獨板，兩端翹頭，與案板一木連作。邊抹與腿足用明式極巧的夾頭榫固定，直牙條，兩側腿足之間架橫棖兩根，起穩固與美觀之效。兩側邊抹之下裝掛牙。邊抹上展下斂，腿足以堅實方材築成，造型樸素大方且不失穩妥。明式家具中素來注重穩妥與美的合一，此件平頭案即為經典造型案例。
