Of archaistic hu-shape, the rounded side vividly enameled with a lively continuous scene of deer resting, grazing, playing and even combatting all amidst a verdant setting of lush grass, towering evergreens and fruiting peach trees punctuated with blue and green-shaded rock formations, the stags, does and fawns depicted as dappled or spotted in brown, iron-red or white, the shoulder flanked with a pair of stag-head handles, the base with an apocryphal Qianlong mark

鹿與“祿”諧音，百鹿即“百祿”，取高官厚祿意。故此器又名“百祿”尊。鹿爲仙禽，與 瑞草靈芝、桃、松桐象征長生不老、松鶴延年之意願。 此尊畫面表現了清皇朝重要的狩獵活動木蘭秋狝。木蘭爲滿語，意爲“哨鹿”，秋狝指秋 天打獵。這是自康熙二十二年起幾乎每年秋天都舉辦的大典，這並非爲了狩獵娛樂，而是具 有重大的政治、軍事意義。康熙皇帝爲鍛煉軍隊，在承德以北開辟狩獵場，每年秋季狩獵時 用八旗兵頭戴鹿頭，在樹林裏口學鹿啼叫，引誘異性，鹿出之則合圍獵殺。乾隆皇帝對此祖 制甚爲重視，還命宮廷畫師把實況記錄下來，工匠就照著這些畫卷，把此重要的活動重現于 百鹿尊，也是帝王銘德之器。 本品敞口，口下漸廣，垂腹，圈足。肩兩側對稱飾礬紅仿生鹿頭爲耳，腹通景繪百鹿圖， 山林中松桐映掩，溪水淙淙，靈芝、花草叢生，壽石相叠，有嶙峋峥嵘之貌，其側蒼松相依 傍，枝幹遒勁，松蓋如傘，蒼松下梅花鹿三五成群，或奔跑，或憩息，或相偎，或嬉戲，或 覓食，姿態各異，一派祥和靜逸、生機勃勃的景象。“大清乾隆年制”款識。 來源：佛羅里達州邁阿密藏家提供
