度母實爲觀世音菩薩之化身，有二十一種化現，而綠度母則爲所有度母之主尊，總攝其余 二十尊化身之所有功德，能救八種苦難，故又稱爲「救八難度母」。 本像發髻高盤，頭戴五葉花冠，雙耳垂肩，飾大耳珰。面相方正，眉間飾白毫，雙目低垂， 嘴角略向上翹，透露出菩薩悲天憫人之義。上身袒露，腰部微扭，雙乳微微隆起，腰腹細軟， 呈現女性柔美婀娜之姿。胸前飾多組珠串式璎珞，裝飾繁缛精美。左手當胸撚盛開蓮花之莖， 右手結與願印，下身著長裙，安坐雙層束腰型蓮花座上，左腿橫盤，右腿前伸，右足踏于蓮座伸出的蓮花之上。“大明永樂年施”款識。整體比例勻稱，體態曼妙，衣紋流暢自然，爲 明代宮廷造像的典範之作。
