Ming Dynasty period. Of square section, potted with deep rounded sides rising from a tapered foot to a flared rim, the exterior painted with scenes of boys cheerfully engaging in various outdoor pursuits enclosed in shaped cartouches, all in between bands of scrolled clouds along the mouth rim and triangles along the base rim, the interior inscribed with a large 'shou' character at center. The base inscribed with six character Jiajing mark.
