SHI JIZHANG: A PAINTED CLAY SQUARE TEAPOT    史繼長款 泥繪方壺 乾隆時期多方器大壺

Of square form widening downwards, the body painted with mountain, river, boat, birds, and houses scenery, supported by a rectangular four-feet ring, the large rectangular handle extends from top of body to near the base, and the spout curves graciously upwards, all indicative of Qing Dynasty Qianlong period. Bottom bears six character artist mark “Shi Jizhang”. Shi Jizhang’s famous square teapots were usually marked with “Jing Yuan Zhai Zhi” or “Jing Yuan Zhao Jizhang Zhi”, mostly for Prince Guo.


此壺成四方形,四挖足,方形嵌蓋,三彎流,方形把,壺兩邊泥繪,亭台泛舟,遠山,飛鳥,乾隆時期特徵明顯。底有“荊溪史繼長製”篆書款。史繼長所製漢方壺有署“靜遠齋製”或書“靜遠齋繼長製”,其曾為果親王製壺,多有佳器留世。
