LONG WEN: A RED CLAY 'NARCISSUS' TEAPOT    龍文款 水仙花菱壺

Of narcissus flower petal-like form with a bulbous body, the teapot has hexagonal spout and handle, the lid can be placed in any angle, with a flower bulb shaped finial. Two character “Long Wen” mark beneath the handle. Xu Longwen (1618-1666), a famous Yixing teapot maker during late Ming Dynasty and early Qing Dynasty, mostly makes flower shaped or themed teapots.


此壺圓身立面菱形,上下對稱,壺蓋可任意變換角度,通體曲綫之美,相互輝映,另人賞心悅目,另有人稱“合菊壺”,壺身近把處刻有“龍文”款。許龍文,為明末清初宜興製壺高手,生卒為1618-1666年間,所製多花卉象生壺。
