LI ZHENGHUA: A YIXING GUANYIN STATUE    李正華製 紫砂觀音座像

The Guanyin is seated in royal ease position (rajalilasana), with gilt decorations on top of flowing long robe, covering almost entire body, the serene face looking downwards, with half open eyes and smiling lips, all on top of original carved wood stand, with six character mark on the back, along with two artist marks "Zheng Hua" on the bottom. Li Zhenghua, a master teapot maker distinguished with title National Crafts Artist, was born in 1953, and started learning Yixing Zisha pottery making with Master Xu Xiutang in 1972. Eventually, he learned his craft from other masters, such as Xu Hantang, Lu Yaochen, Wang Yinxian, and others. He puts his understanding of Buddhism into all his creations. He has entered many national and international conventions, winning numerous awards.


國家級工藝美術師,1953年生,1972年隨大師徐秀堂學習紫砂雕塑創作,後又向徐漢堂、呂堯臣、汪寅仙等大師學藝。其將佛學悟性滲透於作品中。其作品細膩生動,特別對佛像頗有研究,曾多次參加國內外展覽,並獲獎無數。此坐像雕塑生動,細膩,莊嚴,慈祥,裙襬線條,衣物,法相栩栩如生,不愧為大師之作。
