WANG YINCHUN: A YIXING "JINGLAN" TEAPOT    王寅春製 井欄壺

Of compressed cylindrical form, the finial arches similar to a bridge, the round ear-like handle shaped with slight edge, the short spout raises upwards, the body’s one side incised with blooming plum flowers, and the other side incised with poem calligraphy, artist marked "Ren Ganting". Three character "Wang Yinchun" mark on the bottom, and two character "Yinchun" mark beneath the lid. Wang Yinchun (1897-1977) was born in Jiangsu Zhenjiang within a poor family. At age of 13, he started to study pottery making under Master Jin Ashou, and he became famous during 1921 in Shanghai area for making quality teapots within short period of time.


此壺井欄式壺,壺咀三彎流,短流口,把手粗壯有力,壺蓋內嵌,鈕為橋式,蓋結合緊密,整體線條流暢,一絲不苟,紫泥用料堅實細膩,符合王寅春大師的性格。壺身兩邊有大師任淦庭的詩、畫之作,實為難得。王寅春(1897-1977),生於江蘇鎮江一貧民之家,13歲起拜金阿壽為師學陶藝。1921年起製作之茶壺又多又快,聞名上海,所製茶壺雍容大方,規矩挺拔,光潤合協,口蓋緊合。王寅春為人樸實,樂於助人,技藝風格獨樹一幟,是位多產之壺藝家。
